This 1933-37 black and white film traces the Rainbow Bridge-Monument Valley Expedition. It was an extradinary enterprise from many points of view. It owes its inception and its survival largely to the vision, the energy, and the tenacity of one man; ANSEL FRANKLIN HALL. This professor at the University of California-Berkeley, concieved an imaginative program of field research not only far ahead of its time, but remarkably daring at a time when economic paralysis of the great depression gripped the United States.
This film, made with the assistance of the Ford Motor Company, has views of early Ford products operating under challenging conditions. ADVENTURE BOUND provides early glimpses of many significant scholars and scientists in their formative years. Running time 20 minutes. DVD
